Keep trying if at first you fail ... not all rooms may appear at first ... restart a few times 

To fix the adult room list in Yahoo Messenger Chat  

Right click and exit messenger down by the time first .. then 

Go to \program files\yahoo!\messenger\cache  ... click view / list details  at the top ... hold your mouse on the files  so you can see the names properly

Now use notepad to open all  files that have chatCategories in their  names.
You may have to edit many  files with  chatCategories in the name .... depending on how many ID's you have
Scroll down to this line:

after it add the following:

		<category id="1600083764" name="Adult">
		<category id="1600083801" name="BDSM"></category>
		<category id="1600085416" name="Fetishes"></category>
		<category id="1600084215" name="Gay Male"></category>
		<category id="1600084740" name="Lesbian"></category>
		<category id="1600084752" name="Married But Looking"></category>
		<category id="1600085693" name="Masturbation"></category>
		<category id="1600086224" name="Role Playing"></category>
		<category id="1600084891" name="Straight"></category>
	</category>

Make sure all the <categoryid="  tabs line up with the originals tabs   ...  then save the file and restart messenger
